About AuntiePooh

A native of Detroit, after graduating from Robichaud High, she pursued her baccalaureate education at Eastern Michigan University. Ms. Traylor is also a teacher and motivational speaker. An advocate of literacy and fitness she is a community activist working to bring quality programs to her neighborhood and their children.

She is certified by the AFAA (Aerobic & Fitness Association of America), a member of the National Storytelling Network, Board member for J & C Inc., Detroit Association of Black Storytellers, UACO, African American Women’s Network, Minority Business Owners, the Y.E.S. Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the City of Hope and Vice-President of Sisters Network Inc. Detroit Chapter.

In addition to her professional, civic and community duties she serves as a greeter, Jr. Youth Worker and Chairperson of the Women’s Ministry at Linwood Church of Christ where she is a member. A breast cancer survivor Ms. Traylor also speaks to teens and women on the importance of regular breast exams and mammograms.

Ms. Traylor is approaching a milestone in her career as she comes upon 10 years in storytelling. She encourages children and parents alike to develop excitement about reading and learning through stories and original songs.
